Excited to announce that the wonderful organization PLAY ME AGAIN PIANOS is donating a piano to the Rail Trail that will be painted by the community during the festival! There will be a ribbon cutting and performance (on the piano, of course!) Sunday at 4pm! More details: www.playmeagainpianos.org/
Two mentions of the festival in recent local news. Parkview on Peachtree has one of them from the Atlanta Business Chronicle on their site here: parkviewonpeachtree.com/2017/02/17/an-awakening-in-chamblee-2/
And here's an article about the festival in the Chamblee Signal: www.chambleega.com/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/115
Before I get to the latest news about the festival, let me explain a bit about the background photo for this page as it will give you some sense of how the festival will be laid out.
The photo was taken near the Keswick Drive entry point of the Chamblee Rail Trail. We are looking at the new wooden bridge that was built for Parkview On Peachtree, the mixed-use development on Peachtree Boulevard that's visible in the top right of the photo. The bridge will lead into their parking from Peachtree Boulevard when they are open later this year.
The Rail Trail continues under that bridge to where the performance/exhibition stage and vendor booths will be.
To the right, but not quite seen in the photo, is the Keswick Park adult softball field (it's referred to as the Keswick Park Baseball Field on Google Maps). We plan on having drone racing on this field during the festival.
The asphalt path you can see veering to the right is where our children's chalk art contest will take place. Roughly behind where this photo was taken is the parking lot for the softball field, which will be our food truck park during the festival. It's located on Keswick Drive. Got it? Next post will be less wordy, I promise!
